Last night my friends and I decided to venture to other side of the Hudson River to Kingston, NY. There are lots of amazing restaurants on both sides of the river and it is a blessing to go to school near so many delicious restaurants.
We went to a restaurant called Yum Yum Noodle Bar. According to various food trend lists of 2015, you are going to see a lot of ramen and noodle bowls on restaurant menus. As ramen is a typical college student staple, this ramen you cannot get out of a package. At Yum Yum, you get to pick your type of noodle (ramen, soba, udon, or rice), choose your protein (pork, chicken, pork belly, tofu, beef, shrimp, or seitan) and finally you can choose your broth (coconut curry, chicken/pork, miso/dashi, or vegetarian). All bowls come with vegetables, scallions, and an hard boiled egg. They have other menu options like dumplings, steamed pork buns, bento boxes, and pad thai.
I got the chicken ramen noodle bowl with pork/chicken broth. The chicken was so moist and cooked perfectly but the broth is what made the meal. It was so rich and flavorful that even though I couldn't finish the noodles I made sure to finish the broth! The restaurant was intimate but lovely. It was an appetizing dinner and I cannot wait to go back again soon!
Bon Appétit,
Melanie
